Getting rid of old laws

All common law started in England and  over the years and centuries, case law evolved and was often translated into peculiar laws and statutes. Of course, at the time they were introduced, they were not at all peculiar.  But as the English go, and because of their love for all old and ancient, they forgot to abolish many of those old laws, which makes for fascinating reading today.
